Las Flores Argentina! March, 2018

WHATSUP FAM!! How is everybody doing!! This week has been a good week. This email won’t be all that long but there is definitely some stuff to talk about!!
Recently I had to leave Villa Dolores and we left with a ton of work done. But I still didn’t leave feeling all that great. I was sad we couldn’t baptize the people that I left!! BUT oh my lanta! Elder Cota just sent me a bunch of pictures that freaking this week THEY BAPTIZED BOTH! That’s freaking nuts! It’s just like UGH why couldn’t I have been there!!
Oh well! This week in Las Flores has been good so far. We’re finding a ton of people to teach and hopefully were gonna baptize a young kid named juanchi who always comes to church, but we have to talk to his parents so that he can get dunked haha!! We also found a freaking like chosen guy. He’s way cool and has so many questions for us. We’re hoping that he can get baptized!!
This area is so amazing oh my goodness! I literally love this place.  THERE are a ton of Peruvian people and all of them are humble and it’s great because they all are open to listening to us!!  We eat way too much here I need to start working out because I WILL get fat my gosh! Anyways my family I love all of you guys.  This was a great week and I’m sure that it was the same for you guys!! I love you all and I’ll see you all soon.

What's Up FAM! February 2018

February 13, 2018
What’s up fammm!! This week has been really good! We’ve been killing it and man its tiring, but it’s a lot of fun!! This week I’ll just share a little bit of what happened!! We found a girl named Belen who is an evangelist!! She’s 20 and she’s really nice!! We started teaching her the restoration of the gospel and well she really liked it and said, "well I believe that Joseph Smith saw God and Jesus Christ". We were pretty happy about that! We had to explain what that meant in the big picture, but she had a tough time believing that!!(:(: so we’ll have to get with her and teach that a little bit better!!
THIS WEEK we all had the chance to see one of the 12 apostles. I got to shake Elder Todd D Christopherson's hand it was sooo cool!!! Haven’t washed it since so I’m pretty happy!!(:(: but ya this week has been good. I’m winding down time here in villa dolores which I am ok with.

February 20, 2018
SUP FAM!!  This week has been quite the week!! I’ll tell one story and that shall be it because more than one is way too much time!! We have been looking for a lot of people, and really looking for people so this week we were calling all of the less active people. We decided to call Emmanuel, a guy who was going to church but he stopped going. We invited him on the phone this week to church and as it turns out he told us he can’t read. He said that he was scared to go to church because a lot of the time he didn’t understand what was going on and that he wanted to get baptized, but just didn’t understand all that great! We planned and got the restoration video ready and he LOVED it!  He asked what could we learn from it how did it all happen and why! It was a great lesson and I loved the experience to see someone have such a love for the gospel! ANYWAY, THERE'S MY STORY FROM this week!!
Just out here working having a good time!
Love all of you,

Elder Jones

FAT Goals in San Pedro! February 6, 2018

WHATSUP MY FAMILY
This week has been so amazing let me tell you guys to start!! Me and Elder Cota are going CRAZY and been having so much fun!!
Let’s start with this last Wednesday. We spent it on the farthest part of our area in San Pedro (saint peter) which is about 20 minutes on a bike! We went there and decided that we did not have a whole lot of people to teach so we put fat goals and decided we weren’t going home until we got them! We reached our goals that night at 10 ha ha holy crap! I have never been so tired in my life of clapping at doors!! We found 10 people and taught 11 lessons that day it was nuts and sooooo tiring!! That morning we looked at all the members less actives in San Pedro to go and visit them and see if they needed help!! Turns out that literally no one has been visited in like years because the elders just forgot about San Pedro!!  Everyone there looks at us so weird!! It’s been a long time since the elders have been there so we’re excited to be the first ones back in a while!!

Then came Thursday which was supposed to be weekly planning, but we had things to do that day so we saved weekly planning for the next day Friday and we just were outside all day!!   I’ll share a story about some people that we found!!  Their names are Graciela and Jose and this couple is married!! Here in Argentina, being married isn’t a normal thing anymore!! So these two were actually neighbors to a less active we were looking for and while clapping at the door of the less active they came out and were like "hey do you guys teach of god!?"Obviously we both got super pumped like mmmmm yes we do would you like to hear? She literally like ran into the house and we just sat there for like 2 minutes, then she came back out laughing and said "well are you guys gonna come in?" We laughed and went in to the house and that house is one of the most humble houses I have ever stepped foot in. They let us use their 2 chairs and they sat on an old bed that her and her husband shared on the ground! They were very humble and receptive to the message!! They are passing for a really hard time in their lives and say that all they know is that all of it is happening for a reason, but they don’t know the reason. They believe in God and wanted a lot of help!! We talked about the plan of salvation and trials and their eyes were lit the whole lesson and it was a spirit filled room! They want to come to church but don’t have money to put gas in their moto!! This next week were gonna go and give them some money to be able to come to church with us!!! If you’re ever looking for a friend’s house and someone in a different house comes out go ahead and teach them the gospel it worked well for us ha!!!
So now we’ll talk about Friday!!  MIRACLE FRIDAY We found a family who is less active named the Britos family and in this family there are 6 and TWO of them aren’t members. The husband and the daughter!! So the situation the daughter was being taught before to get baptized like 2 years ago and the elders just stopped coming for some reason!! We showed up out of nothing and this girls first words were "elders can you guys teach me the lessons and baptize me It’s been a while since I’ve wanted to". For 2 weeks straight now that family has been coming to church again!! AND one of the girls cousins is also gonna get baptized were teaching them together!! And the dad also we gotta baptize him!! Thats gonna be a little bit harder but well get him
Then on Saturday we were in San Pedro again working hard and trying to find a lot of new people and we found a few and taught some really good lessons out there!!
Sunday was good. We ate good food we ate milanesas and had church and that night we went and taught Alejandro and his son which was weird!! The son is a catholic priest so he took out a pad of paper and took notes on what we said so that when we come back he can explain us his doubts and question!!
Yesterday was a really good day and I’m not gonna write about it because I’ve already written a ton and now we’re here today!!
Alright family I love you guy! I’m loving the time here and I’m happy you’re all doing great talk to you all soon

12 NEW People to Teach! January 30, 2018

Hey Guys! This week has been a really good week for me!! We had transfers this week and I’ll be staying here for another transfer! That’s definitely a little bit frightening, but also a time of excitement and lots and lots of plans!!

So this last week we had Elder Cota in Cordoba again until Thursday which is always not fun at all!! He got back Thursday evening with me! That day we decided to do a huge planning session for basically the entire transfer that we would be spending together!! We made goals for the entire transfer and broke it down to weekly goals and daily goals, to see what we would need to get those goals!! Then made plans to reach them!! We’re super pumped with all of the plans that we have to be better missionaries and I’m excited to be with him for another transfer!! Then we finished around 10:30 with all of the planning and goal setting and hit the sack!! We woke up the next day and studied for a while then had a dopppee day!! We went out and found people in the Cadelagos barrio, then had lunch with him and stayed the ciesta in his house. At 4 o’clock when people get up, we went out to Los Olivos to find some more people and visit people that we hadn’t visited in a while!! That was really fun and I saw some people I hadn’t seen in a while!! We ended in the pension at 10 and talked about the day, did abs, showered and passed out sooo fast!!

Next day we woke up and had lunch in a far-away little city. We found all of the less actives in the ward list there and headed out at 10 after the usual studies!! We went walking which SUCKED! We need to pump up our bikes gosh dang it haha.  They get unpumped way too fast!! That morning we found a really cool kid named Jonathan who is catholic and wanted to know more about Jose Smith! Then we ended up looking for a part member family for the next hour before lunch started which was definitely pretty annoying and we never ended up finding them! Then we had lunch with the Cordero family which was SOOOO good (see pictures below) and hung out with them and taught them until the ciesta was over and then went out and went hard on the area!! We ended up at the end of the day having found 12 new people to teach and having taught 11 lessons!! And one of those is a little girl who is part of a family that aren’t all members!! At the end of the lesson with them she said to us "hey elders can you guys teach me so I can get baptized? I almost got baptized a while ago but the elders left.  YESSS haha! It was a hard- working day and again at night we passed out REAL fast and got up for church the next day.

Church was good as always and I did not have a talk ready, but yes I did have to give a talk! So I gave the talk it was fine. I guess I don’t like being unprepared at all it sucks! Then after church, our friend from the United States invited us over for lunch in Merlo!! It was SOOOOO GOOOOD! We made a huge asado and oh man I loved that food so much! It’s the best I’ve eaten in a long time!! This guy is freaking rich so his house made me feel like really at home. With a nice table using forks and spoons and talking about adulty things, I don’t know it was different!

We stayed in Merlo so that man wouldn’t be alone and we’re heading back today at 2 o’clock so it was a good pday!! I love all you guys so much and hope your all having a great week!!
